Just wondering if a Kitfox has ever suffered from a structural mechanical failure in flight? Wing, stab, rudder... Anyone ever heard of one?

What about forgetting to pin your wing?

There’s never been one. Kitfox even advertises that on their site.

Interesting. That is actually incredibly impressive. Especially with the home built thing. I wonder what makes them so structurally sound?

I really like the control rod design.

Has there ever been a control surface failure as in rod breaking for elevator?

I believe from day 1 they were designed for STOL backcountry use and therefore were engineered to stand up to a lot of abuse. The only place they kind of missed the boat on the early models was the less than robust bungee style landing gear.
