Default Upgrading GW from 950 to 1050

Thought I would ask this board. What is needed to upgrade a model II from a 950 gross to 1050 gross? Thanks for any response.

I’m looking for the same information, from what I can gather so far the rear wing spar cross tube was reinforced in the MK4 vs earlier models.

It would be nice to see some drawings or photos of the differences.

Not sure what else was also done.

If somebody could measure a 4 carry thru tube thickness, I'll get the dimensions on my bare 3 fuselage.

the model 1,2,3,and early 4 are all the same in the rear, the fronts however are a little different.

Its been a long time but if I remember right the front one on the model 1 and 2 are 7/8" .035 and the 3 and 4 are 1" .050 or .058

I would be interested to find out what the model 7 is just for comparison

I have attached a history of Kitfox structural changes that might help.

I also have a complete headrack off a 1050 MTOW model III. Will be available in the FlyMart at OSH this year or you can PM me for pics if interested.

[edit] hmm, attachments not working at the moment, I'll come back later and try again.

If you really want all the changes to make it 1050 max gross weight...remove the fuel caps and put them on a model III.

    That's a bit drastic Tom.

Just wanting to consider improvements to the aircraft with the most logical safety upgrades while other work is being done with the aircraft already half apart before it goes back togeather. If they prove to drastic or beyond reason, the MKII is a very fine aircraft as it is at MTOW 950lbs.

    Hi TJay,

I can confirm those measurements are the same as what I've taken from my MKII and a mates MKIV.
