    Default Rotax 912iS on a KF-IV

We finally got the engine mount designed, calculated and welded. We probably over designed it an it came out a bit heavy (an extra lb)

    That's awesome! Nicely done!

Where are you going with the oil tank?
Are you planning on the smooth or round cowl?

We intend to use the round cowl but it does not fit because we moved the engine about 4" forword.

Great Job.....I think you are going to like it....everything I have heard about the iS is that it exceeds expectations....particularily on fuel burn.

If you split it closest to the windscreen you will maintain the lines/taper from nose cowl back

I would follow the arc of the windscreen about 3" in front of it then down to the bottom to the lower corner, re hang everything the take some thin aluminum and wrap it in caran wrap and cleco it to the inside filling the gap, then prep your edges to except a layer or 2 of fiber cloth and saturate the cloth, lay it on the outside over lapping the edges , let it set up good, remove it from the plane then a couple layers inside, once its renforced good on the inside then i would clean up the outside and finish, if your going to do the finish work with it on the plane, slide a big trash bag over the engine first before putting the cowl back on to finish

Remove the aluminum before doing the inside, it should pull right off easily
