Where Did You Fly Today?

Steve..I have all the foam seals on doors etc,..going to have to stick a light up under the cowling and then look at the firewall from inside,..somewhere on the left side is a gap,..lots of air coming in and it's not getting heated much by the engine..

I've had the same exact thought about the same exact problem, cold air coming in from the left side. I can't find it, so I've been thinking of using the flashlight in the cowl trick. You go ahead and do it, find the problem, fix it and let me know. I'll do the same fix and won't have to use the flashlight! I won't have to ask someone to hold the light and won't have to get scared in the dark!

lol Deal,.. the only way checking it this way it wont work is if the firewall or something is flexing under pressure in flight but not while sitting still..we will see

Are you sure it is coming from the front? I had cold air on my left coming from tail cone through the seat-pan gap. I think my biggest source of cold air is the slots for the tail trim. I fixed the seat pan, wall-off the baggage area and now the cold air comes through the front of the center console

Got to say I was proud of Kitfox the other day , a couple of guys that have flown other LSA aircraft ( built in Missouri) after they took control of the stick in my 5 are firm believers in kitfox performance versus .. The other guys

Found it got home and rotated the photo right so it should be easier to see now

Chase, I can see it (a split I think), but what is it and where do I find it on my plane?

Its not a split, its where the cowl meets the firewall, there is a hump in the cowl , evidently the builder didnt account for the bump, easy fix
