    Default VDO pressure help wanted

    Flying friends,

I have build in a VDO oil pressure gauge. When I switch on power, the gauge moves to the maximum - and I haven't even filled her up with oil, yet!
I tried to take off the sender-wire: no result.
What can this beautiful forum say about this?

    tx in advance,

    Hans

What are you using as a readout display? Dynon, for instance, has a different setup for the VDO transducer compared to the Rotax, etc.

Also I believe the VDO transducer must have its case well grounded, which is not so easy since there is no ground screw on the case.

    Hans,
I had similar issues, but with a different gauge and different manufacturer. What I needed to do was recheck the wiring against the instructions diagram. I found that I miswired it. If you find that the wiring is correct, I would suspect a short in the sender.

You were all right, people! Having changed the sender made all the difference. I now even have done IB -1997 (purching of oil). And a beautiful moving oil-P as a result!
