    Default MGL V-6 radio

Am I the only one out there with the MGL V-6 radio that is unhappy with it?
The radio sounds great on the advertisements with all the functions including 4 place intercom. However, trying to adjust all the settings to get proper transmission is a challenge. Change one setting and two others get off. Like the tail wagging the dog. I would like to have a radio that had a volume and squelch control and not all the "bells and whistles"
Any comments or suggestions appreciated. Jeff

I have the V6 and it works great. I'd tell you how I have the settings but I'm out of town and don't remember them off the top of my head. I'll get them when I get back on Tuesday.

    Jeff,

Did you get your radio to work? I apologize, I completely forgot about this. I'll go get my settings this afternoon.

Mike, No I haven't had time to fuss with it any more. Have been in Boise picking up two granddaughters. Will mess with it again on Tues to see if I can get it minding it's manners again as will be flying with the little ones and want the intercom working clearly. At present my transmission out is equally scratchy as the intercom. Alas.... Jeff

Make sure your headphone jacks are insulated from any panels they are installed in. If your using older headsets with brass plugs, clean them with some scotchbrite or something. A little corrosion on those can cause that.

Was it working normally before and just started being scratchy?

Have the MGL headsets which are new. At times I can get the transmission to be clear but then it seems to be upset by gremlins and get scratchy. The reception is always clear.
My problem seems to be with the combination of VOX, numerous VOGAD settings, and MIC sensitivity. The factory tech guy said to adjust the numerous VOGAD settings until a satisfactory adj. is found. Problem is that I have no idea what I am shooting for with settings. Jeff
