I read with interest the questions about the Series V vertical stab and rudder fairing clearances, as I am at that stage on my Vixen (installing the fairings). The directions in my manual are pretty sparse: nothing about clearances, so I'll use the advice posted. Also, nothing about cutting slot in vertical stab fairing for the rudder-stop tabs, but obviously it has to be done for the fairing to go flat against the rear tube. I am curious; is everyone making the foam top tips for the vertical stab and rudder? At least on the Vixen, the shapes of the tubing line up really well and don't look like they need the foam caps. Anyone just covering them without foam caps? I know that Merle Williams markets flaperon plastic end caps; anything like that for the vertical stab and rudder out there (remember, this is a Vixen)? I'm not crazy about "shaping the foam to a pleasing contour."
