    Default first flight

After six years of putzing in the garage, it flew! Did 7 take offs and landings in a friends Kitfox this morning and flew mine in the afternoon. These MK4s are quick and light on the controls, but doable. The 912 ULS with a zipper kit suprised me, very fast acceleration and climb. Wow!! Many thanks to John and Debra for their support.

Congrats Bill. Great day when you can fly an aircraft you built.
The 4 is a great handling aircraft. The zipper kit in a 912 uls should make it really sporty. Have fun. Well done.

Nice one Mr Bill! Well done! I like your approach on the day to preparing - getting familiar in another aircraft and then the first flight! And a MK4 with a zipper kit would have made it 'sporty'! I have flown my friend Craig's MK4 with the ordinary Mk 4 and that is pretty sporty without the zipper kit! Would be interesting to hear about your numbers as you do the fly off.

Hope you continue to enjoy it!

    cheers

Great Job Mr. Bill. I too love your approach to the flight with a morning familiarization/recap/appetizer. Very Cool plane. enjoy.

What a great accomplishment, Mr. Bill! The first flight in an airplane you built yourself is an extraordinary experience. I wish you many years of fun and adventure with your new bird ... it's beautiful!
