Paul, I agree your plane is absolutely beautiful, but I have to know, what does the number 28 signify, the years of painting, sanding and polishing that went into getting it to look that outstanding? WOW. what a show stopper. Congratulations on a superb job.

Thanks all for the kind words. The project sat for a bit while we (Rotec) relocated shop. But in the last year I pushed hard to get her all done.

Rudder? Yes both the rudder and the elevator are a new shape with balanced tips, servos. Chopped the original tubes and then re bowed the original structure added a bunch of ribs.

28? This signifies the R2800 radial out front. But truth told it was just an excuse to put a cool racing number on the sides!

I know very little about what the radial Rotec does for performance, but based on all the custom fairings I see along with exquisite attention to fit and finish, you just may have a real Kitfox racer. I can hardly wait to hear flying test results.

So how did you do the panel? Let me guess, wood in the shape of a Monocoupe panel

The panel looks great I'll get some pics, I painted the seats in black and silver also and set these off with red sabelt racing harnesses. Looks cool as.

The panel face and top cover look metal like same look as the prop, all steam gauges with no electronics. Old school and minimalist.

Power? The geared 2.8 liter radial has plenty. The prop is 76"D with 55"P. It will turn at 2,400 rpm! It will haul no doubt about it.

But alas this is a mk3 high drag wing so I'm not expecting it to go super fast. But should climb like a SOB. This is more about art than anything else 😉

Oh FWIW all Rotec radials now come with a 10 year parts and manufacturing warranty. It's real.
