    Default OAT Mount

Where did you all stick the OAT sensor. I have a small bulb fm from MGL that interfaces to the iBOX mounted on the back of my panel. 1" long. 3/8" diameter. 3/4" long threads about 3/8" diameter on base for mounting.

I mounted my OAT sensor in my wing next to the pitot tube. I just drilled a tight fit hole thru the pitot reinforcing plywood. The OAT sensor is pushed from the inside to protrude out about 1/4". Of course this can only be done before fabric goes on and wires put into the wing. This puts the sensor on the shady side of the wing and way out away from any engine heat.

I put mine just behind the turtledeck on the same plate as the antenna.

I put mine below the horizontal stabilizer mounted to the frame of my battery access panel. I wanted to make sure it would not get direct sunlight as this will lead to incorrect (high) OAT readings in the sun when you are on the ground.

Mounted mine on the belly under the baggage area on the right side (out of the exhaust stream). I glued a 3" round aluminum disc to the fabric inside with a hole thru it to mount the OAT. Worked fine for about two years then both wires broke. I think the fabric during flight was moving a little bit, enough to eventually fatigue the wires. Would recommend a sturdier place connected to the frame that doesn't move.
