Default Decided to switch to E-trim

As always John's kit did the trick, I included a few shots of my elevator mod (now you see it, now you don't). These mods are not part of John's kit.

I've thought of doing that too. So how about a bit more explanation of the process? So I assume John has the electric kit, and does it simply bolt into the s7 structure?

Then how did you attach the tube and supports into the tail cutout? Glue?

    Thanks for blazing the trail!

The kit from John has the motorized jackscrew, switch, wire and assorted parts and is a drop in replacement for the system in the 7. Pulling out the mechanical was easy, I am also confident that the E-system weighs less. The only real chalenge putting the unit in was one paticular washer, if you do this you will get to that point and say "Oh! that washer", nothing that can't be overcome with perseverance and colorful language. The bar is 3/8 AL rod, the end supports are ~3/8 aircraft grade ply pocketed to receive the rod. The ribs are attached with AL angle stock riveted and bonded in place with a 3/8 radius feature to match the rod. The rod is bonded in with HySol (properly cleaned and roughed), it is mechanically prevented from moving up,down or forward. TT < 10 hours (started this last weekend).
