    Default Oops, Cotton Flox?

During the gluing of my 2nd wing ,I forgot to to add the cotton flox. Ya think that will cause any structural issues. I'm using Hysol (great stuff) and it looks better without the flox and didn't have any issues with it flowing before setting.

Bob, you should be just fine. As I understand the only need for the flox is if you mix a batch of Hysol and try to apply it in rather high ambient temps it will have a tendency to slump or "run". The flox is added as a binder to keep in its place while it cures. If yours stayed put then you are OK.

Cotton Flock increases tensile and shear strength a little. Also
increases viscosity which is why I used it as it was about 100 degrees when I worked on my wings, tails ect. and the Hysol would run like hot peanut butter without it. The flox allowed making a fillet that stayed in place. A little difficult to sandthough as I recall. Unless I'm all wet on the Hysol/flox thing I think he'll be OK.

I read somewhere, that once you put the fabric on, you no longer need the glue. I didn't use any flox.

I found flocked cotton fiber and Hysol ea 9430 glue at Aircraft Spruce in a
small amount and thats all i need . But will this work on the kitfox? Is it the same glue used by kitfox . I live about 50 miles from Aircraft Spruce
and was going to drop by and get the glue.

I was wondering bbryan, did you ever go back and add hysol with flox to your wing? If not, are you flying?

Also slyfox, you used no cotton flox at all? Are you flying, how long, any problems, etc.?

There is a huge viscosity difference between 9430 and 9460- 9430 is at 12,000cps and 9460 is at 150,000 to 250,000 cps. I can understand why flox would be needed to hold 9430. 9460 is already at a toothpaste consistency.
