The manual says to add a small amount of micro balloons to the hysol. How much is a small amount?

That is a good question. First of all it is not critical and not worth stressing out over. The answer I got was enough to thicken the Hysol so it is not runny, but not so much that it is like thick toothpaste. The main purposes are for thickening and to prevent metal to metal contact of dissimilar metals.

It all depends on the situation. But generally just enough to keep the Hysol from slumping. But not so much that it does not wet the surface that you are applying it to.
