    Default mounting tab OAT

I can not find a note about this tab's usage, I could put the oat probe there. Is there another use for this tab? There are not tabs like this on the right side.

Could be a ground for a rear mounted battery. I had to add one to my model 5.
Best place for your OAT is under a wing out of the prop wash.

How does that position compare to the recommended static port location?

I wondered about that too. My guess is that it is a spare ground tab. Some folks mount several electrical items in the tail area and a grounding tab may be useful.

Heavy engines like my IO-240 require the battery back there for W&B purposes and this is a convenient ground tab. Bruce N199CL

Thank you guys, a ground point back there does seem like a good idea.

I used it for my battery ground for my IO-240.
