    Default hurricane Irma

Got my house and garage boarded up. I dont know if it was a waste of time, but i put foam, blankets, and carpet over the kitfox in case the roof flys off the garage. Makes me feel better anyway seeing it covered. Wish us luck.

My brother lives just outside Fort Myers. I think he's tying the cat and dog down now and his house looks like a crack den, because he's boarded the windows up. I reckon he may end up with one or two leaves in the pool.

    Good luck to you all

    Ken,
I feel your pain. I did the same think last year for Matthew, and here we go again. Thankfully we closed on our house Wednesday which was 4 blocks from the water and now we are in Spruce Creek Fly in which is further in from the coast. Since I'm on the East Coast it looks like your getting the worst of it. Stay safe,

    Good Luck Ken.
My Older brother made it out OK after the last one. He lives between Corpus Cristi and Rockport. He is still without power and water but everyone survived. Hope you fare as well.

At 9:00 AM we've already had numerous tornado warnings in Central Florida. Hurricanes suck. Good luck Ken!

    Ken,
It appears to me you are not subject to storm surge so, like me you're facing collection of heavy rain and wind. I dug some drainage and put a low dike around the shop, housing my project. Should handle 12 in rain over 6 hrs. But wind... ? Parked trucks in front of overhead door to shop to divert wind. If the doors hold the roof should hold. But will probably loose some shingles... 20 yr old roofing. Fingers crossed. Will know Monday evening.
