With the trailer 102" wide, the center vertical posts that hold up the roof are 1" square, there is over an inch between the wing leading edge and the 1 inch square tubing used for vertical support, the very rear vertical supports are 1.5" square , putting the plane on the trailer with wings in flying position is allot easier, then folding the wings after the fuselage is strapped down, it does not rock side toside at all, there is an A frame that goes from the deck of the trailer upto the rear dorsal fin connection point on the tail of the plane, so no fore or back rocking of the plane either, it is solid once all connections from trailer to plane are complete

At 102", he's right at 8.5' wide. No unusual restrictions where I live.

Yes 8.5' ( 8'6") is the widest " structural" part of the allowable width, safety equipment.. Side markers , tail lights etc can be plus 1/2" each side, check your state reg's for conspicuity strip requirement , at 102" ( 8.5') Missouri requires 50% of the length of open side trailers to have conspicuity strip above the tire height of trailer, since most trailers that wide have over tire decks, this trailer is purposely built lower so a rail which complies to the over the tire height law and seconds as a box truss was used,.. No flex in this trailer carrying the load it was designed for👍
