    Default EAA Proxy Votes

In the Vans RV forum, there has been quite a discussion about the path the EAA has taken away from homebuilders. We have tried for over a month to get a form that they would accept for those concerned to vote for someone other than the people selected by the EAA themselves. Please do NOT send in your proxy allowing Hightower to vote for you.

Today, the EAA put a link on their website to a form to designate Hightower to vote for you if you have a Lifetime Membership to EAA. Our thought is if it were so easy to assign a proxy to someone as a form emailed in, why didn't they tell us that a month ago?

I would urge everyone involved in homebuilding and that is a member of the EAA to read the discussion on the vansairforce forum at this link:

If you want to bring the E back to the EAA, we all need to join together. We have a builder who will be attending the meeting at Air Venture and voting for us. It would be great if we had other builders and EAA members at the meeting to get some answers and let the EAA know we are not happy about the changes. Thanks for the help.

----- The Iron Law of Bureaucracy -----

"Pournelle's Iron Law of Bureaucracy states that in any bureaucratic organization there will be two kinds of people:

First, there will be those who are devoted to the goals of the organization.

Examples are dedicated classroom teachers in an educational bureaucracy, many of the engineers and launch technicians and scientists at NASA, even some agricultural scientists and advisors in the former Soviet Union collective farming administration.

Secondly, there will be those dedicated to the organization itself. Examples are many of the administrators in the education system, many professors of education, many teachers union officials, much of the NASA headquarters staff, etc.

The Iron Law states that in every case the second group will gain and keep control of the organization. It will write the rules, and control promotions within the organization."

    Sad, but true ...
