Default Mod. IV aileron push rod question

I'm finally getting to what I hope is the end of my restoration and I keep noticing things that don't look right. Tonight I found the original builder put the rear wing strut bolts in facing forward. I checked the build manual and sure enough, backwards. I also lubed all the control hinges and rod ends tonight. Boy there are a lot of them! I noticed that the aileron push rod under the pilots seat has a slight bend. Are they all like that? It looks deliberate. There's no photos in the manual that I can find. Can anyone with a model IV chime in and reassure me the rod is supposed to have a slight bend.
    Thanks,
    Jay

Yes the control rod has a slight bend where it passes under the seat. This keeps the seat, when loaded from rubbing.
