Here's a link to an EAA article as well as Amazon and some other links which worked for me. I bought an extra receiver and antenna from Amazon so that I could have both incoming frequencies. VERY simple to assemble. It immediately linked on my iPad, and then I was able to confirm that it was receiving both frequencies by doing what's suggested in one of the following links.

There's a Facebook group I belong to called Flights Above The Pacific NorthWest (FATPNW) where we've had active discussion and workshops of this item. Fun.

Here's Amazon to buy the kit:

Here's a link for some extension cables which makes it easier to package.

And here's the information on how to monitor your setup:
While connected to stratux on wifi, go to Safari on your ipad to address 192.168.10.1 to open the WebUI. If you are using dual antennas - check the settings to make sure you are receiving both 1090ES and UAT. After I turned 1090ES on, I could "see" all the commercial traffic overhead from the ground.

That thing ruined my flying around Chicago. Dangerous below 3'000 feet, least traffic is 6'000 to 10'000 feet. Good thing is N85Ae climbs fast. Never knew how much traffic there was around the Class-B between 1'000-3'000 feet ...

Best aviation investment I ever made for under $100
