    Hi David
Except we only get mid 30`s C in summer instead of your high 40`s.
Right now (early spring) I still have my oil cooler taped up!!
We are both very fortunate in either country!!
    Cheers
    Don

Yes Don, our weather is getting hotter during summer. Some parts of the north west of the country manage the odd 50C+ each year .... that's hot !.

Did a little jaunt to beautiful (?) Lightning Ridge last year. High 40`s one day. LR folks reminded me a lot like us Klondikers from Dawson City Yukon here. Lots of "alternative lifestylers" Super people.
Tasmania is my favorite down there. You are fairly close! My son & family live in Newtown (Sydney).
    Keep that build going.
    Cheers

Ah, Lightning Ridge. I’ve had similar experiences with the “alternate lifestylers” at Lightning Ridge and other surrounding Opal mining towns. Some of the most interesting places and groups of people I’ve ever met. I guess you must be an honorary Aus if your son and family live here. So I’ll just say “G’day” and make you feel at home in your son’s adopted homeland !. I’m in a similar situation ... my son lives in Canada.

Autumn flight on the Australian Alps

It has been fantastic autumn (fall) weather here in Victoria and this morning just called for an early morning flight up over the Bogong High plains (6000ft-7000ft) from our base a few miles away in Mt Beauty. One of those perfect days! We are now packing to go up and walk out to a campsite for the night as it looked so good up there!

    cheers

    As always, great photos R.

However, must admit to a sense of slow torture watching your adventures while I sweat in a hot shed ..... but that light is getting brighter .... ... and then I look at Ben's thread ... ... a real roller coaster !

Sorry Dave -didn't intent to 'torture'! More motivating and looking forward to us being able to do some exploring in outback OZ!!!

I also liked your analysis on the other thread re the times involved - very useful to others. Anyway, you are going really well and perhaps later this year!?

    Cheers

I view picture postings on this thread as evidence of the possible. Can’t wait to get out and about. And yes, the plan is to be flying before end of year, all things going well.

KITFOX flying in the Swiss alps is special adventure and you need a MOU rating to use these landing sites in the alps.

Not sure what an MOU is but I have info. for you. That's no landing site!
That is so cool. Thanks for posting.
