    Default Horizontal Stab wingtip pics

    Would anyone be willing to share pictures of how the foam/balsa wood work on their horizontal stab and elevator looks. I am getting ready to start fabricating mine out of balsa and want to see how everyone shaped theirs. Before fabric or after.

    I know the link is about flaperon assembly but, scroll down to see photos of how I formed the balsa tips. I used pretty much the same procedure with the tail surfaces. I'm not saying my way is best, just how I arrive at workable shape.

    Here’s mine. Used foam supplied with the kit and then Hysol to coat the foam for profile. Small angle grinder fitted with sandpaper wheel to rough shape and then 120 grit to hand finish. Where I still had flaws, used FG filler and then hand sanded.
