Over on the Farm
We fly over the mountains today with our friends from Mt Beauty. They flew in their 172 and have a cattle property in our valley and another 1000ac breeding property over the other side of the mountains with a cabin on it. Lovely place and great day for flying. 7500ft to get over and back but only a 30 min flight.
And as we had lunch on the deck of the cabin we were entertained by the aerial fertilising of the farm.
A fine day out in the Kitfox!
cheers

Re: Where I Fly.
Oz is way more interesting, terrain-wise, than I ever thought. Thanks for the photos Ross.

Re: Where I Fly.
Thanks for taking us along for the ride Ross. I didn't know there was so much skiing down under.

Re: Where I Fly.
Hi Scott, Jim. I don't want to give you the wrong idea about mountains and skiing here in OZ - the mountains are only hills by your standards - Australia is a very old and weathered land - our 'mountains' run in a line along the east coast and we just happen to live next to a couple of the ski areas we have. Next month Gayle and I are planning a cross Australia trip - I will start a separate blog for that and then you will see a lot of, well, the other side of OZ!

Next valley over
Another great day here in OZ - so gayle and I decided to go and visit freinds over the hill. On the way back, our cub friends texted to say they were on their way to Mt Beauty so that turned out to be a long lingering luch in the autumn sunshine.
Nice day all round

The Valley over is the Mitta Mitta Valley - crossing over the hills

Re: Where I Fly.
Now that's living the dream Ross! Did you have to pull the cowl off
to let it cool down after all that great flying?

Re: Where I Fly.
Wow, Ross that picture of you with Chris looks just like it could have been taken here at my home...
Really great for us to see your countryside through your flying.
That picture of the duster in the steep turn is phenomenal in that it scares me so too!
Enjoy the good autumn weather!
We are too!

Your living the dream Ross!
It's been beautiful weather both sides of the hill by the look of it.

Re: Where I Fly.
G'morning folks
Took a cancer fighting pilot friend for coffee at the Vernon BC flying club on Wednesday. We fly Okanagan Valley from Penticton and past Kelowna to Vernon.
We are spoiled rotten to have to live in this area.
We have airports starting at the US border Osoyoos, Oliver, Penticton, Kelowna, Vernon, Salmon Arm and Kamloops all within one hour KITFOX time.
Yesterday was COPA for KIDS DAY at Penticton. Same as Young Eagles. We flew 158 kids in 4 hours with 10 aircraft. Great day. FOXK was ground school demo.
Cheers
Don
