Model 4 Shoulder harness attachment.
I'm a skinny old guy and my shoulder harness doesn't stay on my shoulders very well. I see on the serial number thread that the new Kitfox has what looks like a much better shoulder harness attachment design. Has anyone figured out how to modify the model 4 to something similar? I know there are after market clamps for cubs to do this. Would that work?
Re: Model 4 Shoulder harness attachment.
I am building a new - peviously owned - Model IV and addressed that in the precover stage by welding a tab immediately behind the pilot and passenger seats with a reinforcing tube running aft. I did, however make a velcro secured strap that held the harness together in front on my first IV. It was a simple nylon strap that had a sewn in loop on one end that looped over the middle harness with a velcro secured loop to attach to the other. If rode on my upper chest. I put a plastic ring on the free end for something to grab if an emergency exit proved necessary.

i also used the simple strap method of keeping the shoulder straps from sliding off my shoulders only i put it in back . a brace tube for the seat back keeps the strap from sliding forward .

Thanks for the replies everyone. I think I will try the strap behind the tube brace.
My opinion is it should be long enough to not introduce slack in the harness that would let go if I should bump into something. Am I on the right track?

Mine was on the front, but for no specific reason.
