Herman,
I just completed a SS7 and am now flying off the 40 hours (have 19 so far). Would be glad to show you mine. My hangar is in the Oregon City area.

I am impressed with the response from this forum.
Jiiot (Jim) offered to show me his recently finished SS-7 which is 4 hours away.
The video of a model 4 with a 912S was impressive.
Please share any other ideas you may have to slim down a SS-7 to get close to the power to weight that a model 4 would have.
Has the use of the no silver or paint Oratec covering material been discussed on this forum.
Thanks again
Herman
Just to clarify, a Super Sport DOES NOT have forward float attach fittings on the fuselage.
I have a KF 4 on floats in my hangar, and a raw untouched SS kit in my shed, and they are very different from each other. The SS would need special fittings made to attach floats, as the landing gear attachments are completely different on the SS.
The earlier Kitfoxes had brackets welded on fuselage to attach floats.
The SS7 float attach brackets bolt to the landing gear hardpoints.
pretty slick. Check the picture on Kitfox website, Mark Smiths
beautiful 7 on amphibs.
