Re: Installing Kitfox 3 leaf spring
My Kitfox is old too (1991) and I used the light Stits fabric (1.6 oz). It is painted with Polytone which is the low gloss, dope based option but much easier to repair/patch than the urethane-based alternative. Took me all of 10 minutes to repair the hole I'd made. Just cut it with a razor knife or single edged razor blade.

Re: Installing Kitfox 3 leaf spring
dont attempt to cut the fabric untill after you installed the ring and fabric cover . its surprising how easy the fabric will cut if you drop and carpet knive or screwdriver on it .
Re: Installing Kitfox 3 leaf spring
i've cut the fabric and reinforced it with a thin round piece of lexan that i had glued on the inside part of the hole.
I succeed to remove the original bolt after some heavy hammer's chock
Now i'm waiting for the leaf spring to arrive in my letter box from Denney.
I have to find a longer AN7 in France, that's another thing i have to manage...
