Model 3 fuel tanks fitted to a Model 2
I have been offered a Kitfox Model 2 (yet to be flown) which apparently has has had Model 3 fuel tanks fitted. The vendor said it was quite a job to do and required a great deal of force to bend the rear spar to effect the fit. Apparently the tanks have a different profile. Does this mod sound safe to the teamkitfox group? I would really appreciate your comments as the implications sound scary.
Re: Model 3 fuel tanks fitted to a Model 2
There is something wrong with the vender's statement. Yes it would take quite a bit of force to bend the rear spar. It would be crazy to do it too.
The model three has the same wing profile as the two.

If you are not planning to fly it, it should be okay to taxi it around (maybe in a parade?) ;)
Re: Model 3 fuel tanks fitted to a Model 2
Run away.
If the spars were bent to instal the tanks (shouldn't be necessary) the spars are junk and the wings need to be rebuilt. Who knows what else this moron ruined on the plane.
Run away from it.

Thanks for your input guys. Much appreciated. This is not the plane for me.
