Scuff cap for lower door frames
I don't have the tooling to bend up a piece of stainless to go over the two lower door frames. I have seen some 'Foxes with nice scuff caps over the square tubing there. Anyone sourcing out their services to make that or know where to get it? Thanks.
Re: Scuff cap for lower door frames
Stainless is good, but I used 0.016" aluminum. Just get the stainless/aluminum and cut it to size. Then take it to any sheet metal shop in town and they can quickly bend it to the channel shape for you. Shouldn't cost much.

Drywall edge channels from lowes aircraft supply-light and cheap, mine has been on for 13 years with no sign of wear Bruce N199CL
Re: Scuff cap for lower door frames
I believe John Mc Bean currently makes integral, one piece aluminum fabric support/scuff caps which fit this position on the lower door frame for their current (and likely also for S5-S7 models previously made).

Just got 4 pieces of pre-bent stainless delivered from Kitfox Aircraft to do two aircraft.

Ooooooo. I like. Pricey???
Re: Scuff cap for lower door frames
Under $40.00 per piece delivered to my front door. They fit perfectly with a little trimming for relief at the tubing ( dremmel with a grinding stone attachment) that runs under the front of the seat pan and just a little light sanding on a bench mount sanding disk for length being careful not to overheat the stainless and discolor it.
