Went to a little shin-dig by Whitman Field on the EAA Airventure Grounds this weekend.
The re-introduction of Ultralight Day at Pioneer Airport.
Now that's a pretty airplane.
You had to be grinning like a little kid the whole time.
Just cruising around looking at the water. I need to fly up to the Red River, to see what lake Texoma looks like. The farmers field below me has 3 Containers, that are half submerged. Lake Ray Hubbard, the lake just off my spinner is full, hasn't been full in many years. Some of our lakes went from having -15 feet to plus 15 feet of water in the last 2 months. Near San Antonio Lake Madina went from havin 11% capacity to 36% from In a 4 day period.
Paul,
Now you're qualified to fly across the Great Salt Lake, UT. Come on up and I'll sign off your GSL endorsement! :D
You signed me off for the GSL last time I was there!
The farmer usually has the irrigation system going, trying to get some moisture to the crops. I would imagine he does’t need to worrying about harvesting, his seeds probably washed down stream.
Oh, yeah, I forgot!!Quote:

Great flying yesterday evening. Was at my neighbors strip 2 miles from ours. II21 Zollinger strip. 2000 ft with a 15 ft high power line at the west end of the runway. We had 10 pilots and 17 aircraft flying.
Aeronca Champ, Breezy, 2 J3 cubs,3 Buckeye PPCs, (one mine). Kitfox Lite, Kitfox 4 and my Kitfox 2, 2 Minimax, 2 gyrocopters, Quicksilver MX, Flightstar and one Free Bird Custom Light Sport Experimental. Air was smooth and very light wind. With that mix of aircraft we often had 6 to 8 of them in the air at the same time so we had to be careful and watch for other traffic. Most had no radio or lights. The food that several people brought was good too. We fly there several nights a week when we have good weather.

Here is a photo from my trip to the Factory last year, after I had 703KA converted to a tail dragger. I subscribed to STOL Magazine, kind of neat!!
