Hi, I have just purchased a III with a Subaru engine, and flown it a few times, getting acquainted. However, I have some major damage due to towing. The left wing swung out striking a roadside sign. The cabin top will have to replaced and spliced it into the existing structure. kit Fox has a jig for the type IV, but not the III. I know the wing attach is the same for the two, but what about the other structure in the cabin area? The wing spar is going to need a splice at two locations.. The plan is to fabricate a tube to fit inside the spar at each point, bridging the splice 12 inches on each side, bonding and riviting it in place similar to the strut attach reinforcements.

More about me: I built a Spezio Tu Holer (1979) and flew it for 20 some years. It is currently in Long Beach, Ca. I'm an A&P, Comm pilot and retired from NASA where I worked as a Flight Controller for 30 years. We moved from Houston to Petal Mississippi 5 years ago to be near my wife's family.

    Regards,
    ChuckG
