  1. Hi Jim,

Hope all is well with you. I just wanted to let you know our EAA chapter 444 is hosting a ski plane fly in at our airport/ clubhouse ( Northport 38WI) on Feb. 15. We also have it posted on the EAA events site if you want to see the map. Wheeled airplanes are welcome also! Food is served 10am to 2pm and all pilots flying in eat for free! Please give me a call for details and runway conditions if you and or friends can attend.

    Thanks!

  2. Wisdan,
Sorry I haven't replied sooner, I don't regularly check my private messages. Yep,your right about the no passengers for 40 hours. Also I can't charge for training in my airplane either (I've tried to get the exemption that would allow me to charge for transition training which is what you need, but I was denied by the FSDO). Maybe we should talk on the phone and see if we can figure something out. My number is 715-693-4254. I work swing shifts but right now I'm working from 2-10PM so you could try me in the morning. I'm off on Thursday and Friday so if the weather is nice maybe I'll be down to Iola on Friday.

  3. Jim, My Kitfox just recieved it's airworthiness certificate two weeks ago. It hasn't had its first flight but should be soon. According to the FAA regulations there can be no passengers in the 40 hour fly off phase. Dan
  4. WISDAN,
I have helped some new Kitfox owners get comfortable in their planes. Is yours in flyable condition? Be better to use your plane if possible.

  5. Hi Jim, I just saw your message and I heard of you through a person named Andy... not sure of his last name but he has flown with you in your kitfox. He has a challenger at Poppy's airport ( Northport ). That is where I am a board member for EAA chapter 444. Anyway, I heard you have checked out pilots for kitfox aircraft and if this is correct would you be willing to check me out in your kitfox? One problem is that I have a nose wheel, not sure how that will work but please give me your thoughts. A little about me....I have about 265 hours in 172 Skyhawks since 1998, I took some duel at waupaca in a Rans S7 and a Allegra in the last year.

    Thanks,

  6. Hi WISDAN,
Just saw your message to me sent earlier this month. Yes I get to Iola quite often for lunch. Was there just last Friday. I'm not from Merrill though, I'm from Mosinee. Have a grass strip just 3 miles east of CWA. Maybe we'll run into each other soon.

  7. Hi Jim, I see you live in Merrill which is not to far from me living in New London. Have you ever flown into Central Waupca County Airport (68C) Iola for Friday lunch....it's really a cool place. I would like to see you airplane sometime if possible.
    Thanks,
