My airplane has Full Lotus 1260 floats install. I initially tried the Full Lotus landing gear but they were very under designed for the Kitfox IV and I went to straight floats. After several years of use, I purchased a new set of 1260 floats and then the fun started. The new set incorporated design changes that doubled the takeoff time and made the porpoising much worse, to the dangerous level. I finally removed them and re-installed the original ones. I am currently building a set of Zenair 1450 aluminum floats. I am designing my support structure and I plan to test fly the new floats this summer (2011).
